By automatically monitoring Gmail for bank and credit card transaction notifications, this agent intelligently extracts, categorizes, and logs every expense while generating actionable weekly spending summaries and budget insights.

How It Works

1. Search Messages (Gmail) — Queries your Gmail inbox using bank and credit card sender filters to find all transaction notification emails from the last 24 hours
2. Get Message (Gmail) — Retrieves the full email body and content for each transaction notification identified
3. Extract & Categorize (Claude Haiku) — Uses AI to parse merchant name, amount, date, and transaction type; automatically assigns expenses to categories including Food, Software/SaaS, Travel, Office, Marketing, Professional Services, Personal, and Other
4. Check for Duplicates (Airtable) — Queries your existing expense records to identify and prevent duplicate transaction logging
5. Log Transactions (Airtable) — Creates new records for each unique transaction with merchant, amount, category, date, and account details
6. Generate Summary (Claude Sonnet) — Analyzes weekly spending patterns, calculates totals by category, tracks week-over-week changes, and identifies budget overages
7. Update Dashboard (Notion) — Pushes the weekly summary to your Notion budget dashboard for easy monthly review and trend analysis
