ReleaseForge automates the entire release management workflow by pulling merged pull requests from GitHub and completed sprint issues from Linear, then intelligently categorizing them and generating polished release notes. How It Works

1. Fetch Merged Pull Requests (GitHub) — Queries GitHub to retrieve all merged PRs since the last release tag, capturing commit details and contributor information.
2. Get Active Cycle (Linear) — Retrieves details of the just-completed sprint cycle from Linear, establishing the release scope and timeline.
3. List Completed Issues (Linear) — Fetches all completed issues from the sprint with titles, labels, and metadata to provide comprehensive change tracking.
4. Categorize and Generate Release Notes (Claude Opus) — Uses advanced AI to automatically classify each PR and issue as a feature, fix, improvement, or breaking change, then generates professional release notes with version headers, highlights, and detailed changelog.
5. Post to Slack — Sends a formatted release summary to #engineering and #product channels for immediate team visibility.
6. Create Notion Page — Creates a new release notes page in your Notion changelog database for persistent, searchable documentation.
7. Populate Release Notes — Appends fully formatted release notes content, screenshots, and structured data to the Notion page.
8. Open Post-Release Tracker (Linear) — Creates a new Linear issue for tracking any known bugs or follow-up items discovered in the release.
