Overview
This AI-powered issue management agent automatically classifies GitHub issues using advanced language models, filters out noise like duplicates and incomplete submissions, and creates properly labeled and prioritized Linear tickets for engineering teams. It bridges GitHub and Linear, eliminating manual triage bottlenecks and ensuring every legitimate issue reaches the right team with complete context and appropriate urgency.
How It Works
- List Issues (GitHub) — Fetches newly opened issues from your repository, capturing all incoming bugs, feature requests, and questions
- Classify Issue (Claude Haiku) — Uses fast, efficient AI classification to categorize each issue as bug, feature request, question, duplicate, or needs-more-info
- Post Acknowledgment (GitHub) — Adds a markdown-formatted comment confirming receipt and outlining next steps with expected SLA
- Search for Duplicates (Linear) — Performs full-text search across existing Linear issues to identify and flag potential duplicates
- List Labels (Linear) — Retrieves available Linear labels and maps them to corresponding GitHub labels for consistency
- Create Issue (Linear) — Creates a new Linear ticket with appropriate priority, labels, and formatted description from the GitHub issue
- Create Attachment (Linear) — Links the original GitHub issue URL to the Linear ticket for full traceability
- Post Follow-up (GitHub) — Adds a final comment linking the GitHub issue to its corresponding Linear ticket
Key Features
- Intelligent Classification — LLM-powered triage eliminates manual sorting and reduces engineer overhead
- Duplicate Prevention — Automatically detects and flags existing issues before creating new tickets
- Bidirectional Linking — Maintains full audit trail by linking GitHub and Linear issues for end-to-end visibility
- Automated Acknowledgment — Provides immediate user feedback with SLAs, improving transparency and user satisfaction
- Label Mapping — Intelligently maps GitHub labels to Linear labels for consistent organization across platforms
- Priority-Ready — Creates Linear issues pre-configured with priority and metadata for immediate engineering assignment
Use Cases
- High-Volume Open Source Projects — Automatically triage hundreds of community issues weekly, routing legitimate bugs to the engineering queue while filtering spam and duplicates
- Enterprise Teams — Reduce manual ticket creation time by 80%, allowing engineering teams to focus on development instead of issue administration
- Cross-Platform Issue Management — Consolidate GitHub discussions into a unified Linear workspace without losing GitHub context or community engagement
- SLA-Driven Support — Automatically acknowledge user submissions with expected response times, improving transparency and reducing support inquiry volume
