Overview

RecapBot automates the entire meeting recap workflow for hybrid teams using AI-powered transcription and structured data extraction. This intelligent agent captures Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams call recordings from your calendar, transcribes them using Recall's bot infrastructure, and transforms raw transcripts into organized Notion pages with actionable summaries, decisions, and assigned tasks. By automatically distributing meeting recaps and task assignments via Slack, RecapBot eliminates manual note-taking and ensures accountability across distributed teams.

How It Works

1. Retrieve the meeting recording — Uses Recall's API to fetch presigned download URLs for video, audio, transcript, and participant event data from completed meetings in your calendar.
2. Transcribe the call — Downloads and parses the full transcript content from the meeting bot, converting recorded audio into searchable, timestamped text.
3. Extract structured recap details — Leverages OpenAI's GPT-4 mini model to intelligently extract key information: meeting title, attendees, 5-bullet summary, action items (with assignees and due dates), and decisions made.
4. Create the Notion recap page — Automatically generates a new page in your designated 'Meeting Recaps' Notion database with all extracted details formatted for readability and searchability.
5. DM the page link to you — Sends a Slack direct message with the Notion page link for quick access and reference.
6. DM teammates their action items — Notifies each assigned team member via Slack DM with their specific action items and due dates for accountability.
